LZ Michigan Scholarship Endowment

On July 3, 2010 Grand Valley State University, the West Michigan Whitecaps, and WGVU Public Media held LZ Michigan. Thousands of veterans, their family members and community members attended LZ (Landing Zone) Michigan, a "welcome home" celebration to honor Vietnam War veterans for their sacrifice and service. Vietnam Veterans were honored, including those who were killed or declared missing in action.

To continue the legacy of LZ Michigan, WGVU Public Media, the LZ Michigan Committee, and the WGVU Engage Veterans Sub-Committee have launched the LZ Michigan Scholarship Endowment. This endowment will be used for a Veteran and/or Veterans Dependents to attend Grand Valley State University.

Recipients for this scholarship shall have been accepted for or be currently enrolled at Grand Valley State University. The recipient must be a Veteran or Veteran dependent (verified by DD-214 or proof of lineage to Veteran if dependent).  In addition, recipients must include two letters of recommendation and a one to two-page essay of need included with the application.
